Deep Breath Coffee – Roasted for Calm, Decaf, Whole Bean
Recommended Brewing Method: Pour-Over (V60)
For the best expression of this coffee’s fruity brightness and smooth sweetness, we recommend using the V60 pour-over method with a controlled, multi-pour technique.
What You’ll Need:
-
Coffee: 20g (adjust as needed)
-
Water: 300g (filtered, 185–195°F / 85–90°C)
-
Grind Size: Medium-fine to medium-coarse (adjust based on taste preference)
-
Brewer: Hario V60 (or similar pour-over dripper)
Brewing Steps:
1️⃣ Rinse the filter with hot water to remove any paper taste and preheat the brewer.
2️⃣ Add coffee grounds and gently shake to level the bed.
3️⃣ Bloom: Pour 50g of water evenly over the grounds. Wait 40 seconds to allow gases to escape.
4️⃣ Second Pour (0:40): Slowly add 70g of water in a circular motion.
5️⃣ Third Pour (1:30): Add 60g of water, keeping a steady and controlled pour.
6️⃣ Fourth Pour (2:10): Pour another 60g of water, allowing the coffee bed to stay evenly saturated.
7️⃣ Fifth Pour (2:40): Pour the final 60g of water, reaching a total brew weight of 300g.
8️⃣ Finish at 3:30: Remove the dripper even if there’s water remaining to avoid over-extraction. If needed, adjust water to maintain a 300g total brew weight.
💡 Flavor Tuning with Grind Size
-
Medium-fine (like sea salt): Enhances body and deeper sweetness.
-
Medium (like sand): Balances acidity, fruitiness, and sweetness.
-
Medium-coarse (like coarse sugar): Highlights brightness with a lighter, tea-like mouthfeel.
Enjoy a beautifully balanced cup with vibrant fruit notes and a silky caramel finish!
